Work Shop

Science outreach/education and public outreach is an umbrella term for a variety of activities by research institutes, universities and institutions aimed at public awareness of science and making informal contributions to science education. Inviting groups of students to a college or to a research institute for a workshop is another popular form of outreach.

These workshops range from a one-day visit to more involved week-long events, two-week long programs for a number of students. Another method of science workshop invites teachers to participate where they are able to learn effective strategies to engage students in science. Besides organizing independent events, many outreach organization sponsor existing events that promote science awareness. A notable example are science fairs, public science events in which working scientists can participate both as judge and as sponsors of student projects.
Department of Botany of this college organized a one day workshop in science on 26.08.2015.
